The Lapu-Lapu Sports and Events Bureau Inc.
with the support of the City of Lapu-Lapu will hold the 2nd Annual
Great Lapu-Lapu Run on April 18, 2010, 5:30A.M. at the Historic Liberty Shrine,Mactan, Cebu.Featuring a Half-Marathon, 10k, 5k races and 3k fun run/fitness walk event, the event will take participants along Lapu-Lapu’s scenic landmarks and resort hotels.
The event positions Lapu-Lapu as a premier Sports Tourism destination,
promising to build on last year’s success where we had 3,500 participants and the positive experiences of more than 400 out of town participants of the recently concluded Cebu City Marathon, by offering champion chip timing systems provided by Finishline for accurate, instantaneous results. Plus, as our part in developing our local runners to be World-Class, we will also be sending the top Filipino winners to the prestigious Hong Kong Standard Chartered Marathon.
Because of these enhancements, we are expecting around 5,000 people to join us in this year’s event which also serves as the kick-off of our very own Kadaugan sa Mactan Festival.
